Field Training Enhances Civil Engineering Students’ Skills at the Faculty of Engineering & Oil – Jalu

In an effort to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application, the Department of Civil Engineering organised a field-training programme last Tuesday morning for students enrolled in Construction and Building, and Civil Drafting. The training was supervised by Dr. Najah Ali Al-Sharif, as part of the initiative “The Office Plan is Fulfilled by the Field Plan”, which aims to strengthen students’ applied understanding of core engineering courses.

Engineer Abubakr Saleh Muftah led the on-site visit across several ongoing projects within the Faculty of Engineering & Oil – Jalu. He provided detailed explanations of implementation stages, plan-reading techniques, and engineering work procedures, in addition to clarifying technical data related to the course materials. The session saw active engagement from students, who posed questions and sought clarifications on various aspects of fieldwork.

The Department expressed its appreciation for the efforts of Eng. Abubakr Saleh Muftah in enriching students with valuable practical insights. It also extended thanks to Mr. Mohammed Amghirbi for his role in coordination and follow-up, and to the Head of Department, Eng. Osama Hatem, for his continual support of training initiatives.

The Department reaffirmed its pride in the participating Civil Engineering students, commending their commitment to safety standards and their eagerness to enhance their field experience, an essential step in preparing competent engineers capable of meeting labour-market demands.
