According to the responsibilities and duties outlined in the organizational structure regulations of Libyan universities, issued under Decree No. 22 of 2008, the responsibilities of the Vice President for Academic Affairs are as follows:
1- Studying the methods of performance development and scientific study programs and plans in scientific departments.
2- submitting specialized scientific studies for the expansion and introduction of modern disciplines in line with societal needs.
3Approving and monitoring the proposal of the number of students to be admitted to accredited colleges, in alignment with the available resources and societal needs.
4- Direct supervision of the books and references required by faculties to facilitate the educational process, in coordination with the university’s central library.
5- Direct supervision of associated units and departments.
6- Develop proposals to enhance academic work for the university president and create plans for implementation.
7- Identify the requirements for faculty members, technicians, teaching assistants, facilities, and laboratory and educational equipment.
The Vice-Chancellor for Scientific Affairs is followed by the following departments and offices.
Department of Postgraduate Studies and Training, followed by the following offices:
a) Office of Postgraduate Studies.
b) Training Office.
c) Office of Teaching Assistants.
d) Office of the Secretary-General.
