University of Benghazi President Meets with Quality Assurance Audit Team to Review the PhD Programme in Statistics
The President of the University of Benghazi, Prof. Dr. Eiz Eldeen Younis Aldressi, received this Wednesday morning a team from the Libyan Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Educational Institutions, as part of the procedures required to obtain the technical licence for the PhD programme in the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Science, in preparation for the programme’s academic launch.
The meeting was attended by:
- Prof. Dr. Jamal Al-Oreibi, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs
- Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Office at the University
- Dean of the Faculty of Science
- Coordinator of Postgraduate Studies at the Faculty of Science
- Head of the Quality Department at the Faculty of Science
- Head of the Department of Statistics
- Director of the Postgraduate Studies Office in the Department of Statistics.
During the meeting, the team discussed the requirements for accreditation, including the review and verification of academic and administrative documents necessary for launching the programme in alignment with national quality standards.
The Authority’s team is scheduled to conduct a field visit tomorrow to the facilities of the Faculty of Science, where they will inspect lecture halls, statistical laboratories, and technical support units for the programme. The visit will also include a review of the procedures and documentation submitted by the Department of Statistics to obtain authorisation for the academic operation of the PhD programme.
