Intensive Scientific Workshop at the University of Benghazi on Qualitative Research Methods in Migration Studies Concludes

 

The University of Benghazi has concluded a three-day workshop organised jointly by the University and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Libyan House of Representatives, in collaboration with the International Organisation for Migration.

 

The workshop was led by Dr Ibrahim Al-Faitisi and Professor Asmaa Al-Baraasi, covering specialised scientific topics on methodologies for collecting and analysing qualitative data, as well as showcasing key research tools used in this field.

 

The workshop also highlighted research ethics, particularly when engaging with vulnerable groups and migrants, emphasising the importance of adhering to ethical standards in data collection, ensuring confidentiality, and protecting research participants.

 

The event saw significant engagement from academics and researchers, who highlighted the relevance of the topics discussed and noted that such training programmes contribute to developing research capacities and enhancing the quality of migration-related studies in Libya.
