The Arab world has long been a dynamic and culturally diverse region, rich in linguistic heritage and intellectual tradition. As globalization and technological advancements continue to reshape the landscape of education and communication, the need to re-examine the methods and theories underlying interpreting and translation teaching in Arab universities has become increasingly critical.
It is within this context that the University of Benghazi, the Military Academy for Security and Strategic Sciences, and the Democratic Arabic Center for Strategic, Political & Economic Studies will proudly organize the 1st International Conference on ‘Methods and Theories of Languages and Translation Teaching in the Arab Universities: Reality and Future Prospects’. This event serves as a vital platform for scholars, practitioners, and educators from across the Arab world and beyond to engage in a dynamic, interdisciplinary dialogue on the evolving landscape of interpreting and translation pedagogy.
The conference aims to explore the current situation of interpreting and translation teaching in Arab universities, while also casting a visionary gaze towards the future. Through a rigorous exploration of cutting-edge research, innovative pedagogical approaches, and best practices, this gathering will chart a course for the continued advancement and enrichment of interpreting and translation education in the Arab world. It will allow for a stimulating exchange of ideas, challenge existing paradigms, and cultivate new synergies between theory and practice. It will serve as a catalyst for transformative change by enabling educators and institutions to better prepare the next generation of interpreting and translation professionals to meet the evolving needs of the Arab world.
