University of Benghazi Professor Joins MANFS Executive Board
The University of Benghazi has strengthened its international scientific presence through the participation of Professor Mahmoud Abdullah Aqdoura, Professor and Expert in Forensic Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, in the founding of the Mediterranean Academy and Network of Forensic Sciences (MANFS), where he was also selected as a member of its Executive Board.
The Academy and Network were established in Rome, Italy, with specialists and scholars in forensic sciences from across the Mediterranean region. The founding meetings took place in Rome, Italy, on 10 and 11 September 2026, with members attending both in person and virtually.
During the proceedings, members selected Professor Aqdoura as a member of the MANFS Executive Board, in addition to being one of its founding members. His appointment reflects the University’s growing international engagement and the contributions of its academic staff to medicine and forensic sciences.
MANFS is a non-governmental, non-profit scientific organisation that brings together leading scientists, experts, and researchers specialising in forensic sciences across Mediterranean countries. It aims to promote scientific cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and expertise, support training and professional development, encourage joint research and studies, and organise specialised workshops, conferences, and scientific events.
The University’s participation aligns with its efforts to expand its network of international academic partnerships and create new opportunities for faculty members, researchers, and students to take part in training and research programmes, conferences, and scientific workshops. It also supports postgraduate studies, academic exchange, and capacity development in forensic science disciplines.
Through its involvement in this Mediterranean scientific network, the University of Benghazi continues to broaden its engagement with international academic institutions and contribute to collaborative research and academic initiatives at both regional and international levels.
