University of Benghazi Vice President for Scientific Affairs Holds Meeting with Visiting Italian Scientific Team
The Vice President of the University of Benghazi for Scientific Affairs held a meeting with the Italian scientific team visiting the University. The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Science, the Acting Director of the International Cooperation Office, the Head of the Department of Earth Sciences at the Faculty of Science, the Coordinator of the International Agreement Project at the department, and several faculty members from the Department of Earth Sciences.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Vice President welcomed the members of the Italian scientific team and the attendees. He praised the importance of the scientific agreement between the two sides, noting its valuable contribution to the progress of scientific research at the University of Benghazi. He also commended the efforts made during the fieldwork carried out as part of the Italian team’s visit this year.
For his part, Dr Rosario Ruggieri, Head of the Hyblean Centre of Speleo-Hydrogeological Research (CIRS), delivered a visual presentation reviewing the course of scientific cooperation between the two sides. The presentation highlighted the main research activities and programmes implemented under the agreement, in addition to the most significant scientific results and discoveries achieved over the past years.
The meeting also included a fruitful discussion on ways to advance academic and research cooperation between the two institutions, as well as prospects for developing the scientific partnership in support of research and the exchange of expertise and knowledge between researchers from both sides.
