University of Benghazi solely represents Libya at EURIE 2026 summit to enhance international academic cooperation

The University of Benghazi participated as the only Libyan university in the Eurasia Higher Education Summit – EURIE 2026, held from April 7 to 9, 2026. The event included the Association of Arab Universities and numerous academic institutions from Arab, European, and Asian countries.

This participation was part of the university’s efforts to strengthen its international presence. It aimed to sign a draft “Corridor for Cooperation” agreement between the Association of Arab Universities and the Eurasian Universities Union, as a strategic step to expand scientific and research cooperation and enhance academic partnerships between Arab universities and their Eurasian counterparts.

The agreement is expected to pave the way for several bilateral agreements with international universities in the coming period. This would support academic exchange programs, boost research development opportunities, and provide broader prospects for students and faculty members.

The University of Benghazi’s participation received wide praise from attendees and organizers. It reflected a distinguished and honorable presence for Libyan universities in international forums and affirmed their ability to build effective bridges of cooperation with academic institutions worldwide.

The university was represented at this international event by Dr. Ruwaida Al-Senini, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and member of the International Cooperation Office. She took part in the conference sessions and actively contributed to discussions on ways to develop and enhance international academic cooperation.
