For the First Time Among Libyan Universities: Discussion of the First Two PhD Proposals in Nutrition and Public Health at the University of Benghazi
This morning, Tuesday, the Faculty of Public Health at the University of Benghazi witnessed the discussion of the first two proposals for a PhD degree among Libyan universities in the specialization of Nutrition and Public Health.
The two proposals were presented by professors Faiza Al-Fakhri and Salima Al-Faqi, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Mohamed Bouzqia. This step is the first of its kind in this specialization at the national level and reflects notable progress in the path of scientific research within the university.
This event is considered a qualitative scientific achievement that reflects the progress occurring in the field of academic studies in the specialization of Nutrition and Public Health, and confirms the serious direction toward developing postgraduate programs and elevating them in line with approved academic standards.
The discussion proceedings took place in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health, Dr. Randa Al-Amrouni; the Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Ghanem; the Director of the Faculty’s Graduate Studies Department, Dr. Samia Al-Awjali; the Head of the Nutrition Department, Dr. Nasr Al-Haddar; and the department’s Graduate Studies Coordinator, Dr. Hanan Al-Fakhri, alongside the esteemed examining committee, which included Professor Dr. Mohamed Hamza, Professor Dr. Mohamed Madi, and Professor Dr. Ali Al-Mabsout.
In this context, the Nutrition Department at the faculty affirmed its ongoing commitment to supporting scientific research and encouraging researchers to present rigorous studies that contribute to addressing priority health and nutritional issues in society, and that enhance the standing of the faculty and the university at both the local and international levels.
